John Laney is from Marlboro County, South Carolina and he lives in Marengo County, Alabama. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he was also a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. John served in the Army National Guard as a Combat Medical Specialist for 6 years and he enjoyed serving the business community of the Gulf South Region as a professional salesman in the IT, Medical, and Legal fields for over 22 years. He managed sales and operations for Tutt Land Company from 2015 to 2021 before transitioning into his current role of overseeing marketing and recruiting. He is a member of the United Methodist Church in Demopolis, AL where he teaches Sunday school for the United Men's Methodist Coffee Class. He serves on the Demopolis Parks and Rec Board and is a member of the Demopolis Rotary Club. John has a wonderful wife, Deborah, and 3 children: Grace, Elizabeth, and John Wilson. John's kids are and continue to be his greatest accomplishments. He enjoys working with his Tutt Land Co. family, playing in the outdoors, and grilling out with family and friends.
