The lake has been home to a wide variety of waterfowl for many decades.  Shallow by original design, it is fed from a natural spring beginning a half-mile north of the tract.  The north side of the lake is bordered by dense stands of native cypress trees and mature hardwoods providing excellent cover and ideal nesting sites for both resident and transitory geese and ducks.   A well-established dam on the south side, and a levee around the east side, provide easy access to the lake and the remainder of the property.  Many years ago, before the east levee was built, the lake encompassed an additional 20 +/- acres on the east.  Those acres are now a mix of shallow ponds, open fields, and scattered hardwoods, adding diversity to the landscape while providing ample room for rutting bucks to chase, and spring toms to strut.

In addition to the lake, several well-established ponds provide eight acres of surface water.  The ponds were originally used to grow catfish and the locals remember the days when you could “pay by the pound” for the catfish you could catch.  Those days are now past, and the ponds have been exclusively private for well over a decade allowing healthy populations of Bass and Bream to be established.  There is a pole barn near the ponds and another barn on the east side of the lake for equipment storage with power on site. 

There are three separate sections of road frontage that allow easy access to the tract.  With open fields and numerous build sites, you will find plenty of room to create your vision for the property.  You have ample space to grow some crops, graze your livestock, have a large garden, raising animals, or whatever your heart desires.  Mature, fruit-bearing persimmon and pear trees along with a producing muscadine trellis are already waiting for you.  There is an RV pad, with power and septic on site, that could be used while you build, and beyond.
