67 Ac - Pike County - Pronto Tract
$ 110,550
67 acres in Pike County, Alabama,
Here is an opportunity to escape to the country, hunt deer and turkey, and grow some timber! The Pronto tract is an accessible, affordable, rural property that would be perfect for building a nice home or a hunting camp. Located in Pike County, AL between the small towns of Brundidge and Banks, it features paved road frontage, available utilities, planted longleaf pines, a small creek, and plenty of game!
With over 1,300’ of paved road frontage, the property is ideally suited to build a home or a hunting camp. The old home was torn down a few years ago leaving a nice pad on which to build a new house, park your RV, or set up camp. Several mature pecan trees scattered around the home site produce large amounts of pecans. The old home had power, deep well and a septic tank (which may or may not be usable). Or, if you prefer, you could tuck it back in the property for more privacy. Railroad tracks run beside the highway but there is a paved crossing providing easy access.
The property contains a diverse mix of planted Longleaf pines, older hardwoods and Loblolly pines, cane patches and some thick brushy areas. The Longleaf pines were planted in 2013 through the NRCS cost-share program which requires they be left to grow until they are 15 years old. At that point, you can decide if you want to harvest them for some income or let them continue to grow. A small, spring-fed creek crosses the southeast corner of the property which might provide a nice site to build a pond. The diversity of the vegetation provides good cover and forage for the wildlife; there is even a covey of quail roaming about, a not-so-common sighting in these parts.
Note to hunters - this is an excellent recreational tract, loaded with whitetail deer and wild turkey. Deer season in Alabama begins with bow season in mid-October, and gun season doesn’t end until February 10th! Turkey season begins in mid-March and lasts through the end of April. Surrounded by other timber tracts and a large hayfield to the south, there is plenty of food, cover and water to keep the game around. A perimeter trail provides ATV access all the way around the property. There are two nice food plots on the property and room for more. The soil is a typical mix of sand and clay, great for growing pine trees.
This is unrestricted property in a nice rural setting at a very competitive price! Enjoy the peaceful rural life and the great hunting of south Alabama while you manage your timber. Annual property taxes are less than two dollars per acre. For more information or to schedule a showing contact:
