The Antioch Road East Tract is 860 acres (+-) located on Antioch Road in Hatchechubbee, AL, about 10 miles east of Hurtsboro and only 35 minutes or so from Opelika, Auburn and Columbus, GA.  This convenient location should make this nice recreational tract attractive to many buyers in the area.  Once a quail plantation but not hunted for many years now, this tract is in a desirable area surrounded by large landowners and is loaded with wildlife.  Whitetail deer, wild turkey and hogs are plentiful in this area of Russell County, which has been a popular destination over the years for hunters of all kinds.

This tract features two lakes, one about 14 acres and the other about 6 acres,  both of which would be ideal for bass and bream fishing.  The upper end of the larger lake looks like it would hold some wood ducks.  These lakes also provide a good water source for the wildlife.  It's very hard to find a nice tract with a sizable lake on it these days, here we have two!  It is expensive to build a new lake and the permitting process can be a nightmare, so an existing lake is a huge asset.  Hatchechubbee Creek, a pretty good size sandy bottom creek, flows across the NE corner of the tract.  The banks of the creek and the area surrounding it are loaded with large, mature hardwoods...a great spot for a cold January morning deer hunt!

The timber on the tract is a combination of old natural pine with a pine/hardwood/sage understory, 10 year old planted longleaf pine and some hardwood drains.  With some burning and understory spraying this tract could be converted back into quail ground fairly easy.  There are some old food plots in place and numerous other places where food plots could be implemented.  Access is provided by a network of roads/trails, most of which are in pretty good shape.  The wildlife is here...I can only imagine what a little TLC would do for this tract!  Several deer were seen while looking at this tract and sign is obvious everywhere.  There is no doubt in my mind that once a good food source is provided the hunting here will be phenomenal!

The Antioch Road East Tract deserves serious consideration if you're looking for a good size recreational farm with two lakes and unlimited possibilities!
